About Us

Uganda Rural Development and Training Institute (URDT-I) is a vocational training institution based in Kagadi District. It was established in 1993 to deliver vocational skills and youth leadership development using a Visionary Approach to training that leads to a critical mass of all-round male and female young entrepreneurs who have integrity and the capacity to improve their economic situation, become responsible citizens, and contribute to the national development agenda. The institute is registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports as a Vocational Training Institution.

To access our courses, you need to have your bio data registered in our system. Once registered, we will provide you with a username and password to login and access enrolled courses.

Do I need to pay school fees?expand collapse

No, our courses are currently free. No payment is required to access our materials. All you need is an internet connection on your device.

How long does it take to complete a course? are the lessons structured and customized for individual needs?expand collapse

The duration to complete a course can vary. Our materials are designed to be concise, and you can typically complete a course in 1-3 months, depending on your engagement. If you dedicate 1 hour per day, you can finish a course in about 3 weeks.

Will I receive a certificate after completing the course?expand collapse

Yes, upon completing a course, the system will automatically assign you a certificate and send it to your email. You can download and keep your certificate from there.

What should I do if I don’t receive my certificate after completing the course?expand collapse

If you do not receive your certificate, please contact us through the support page on our LMS. We will ensure that it is delivered to you promptly.

I don't have computer skills. Can I still use the LMS?expand collapse

Our system is designed to be visual-audio and is available in both English and Runyakitara. If you need assistance with basic computer skills, URDT Institute offers enrollment in computer basics training, which can be done online or on campus, depending on your location. We also provide a digital literacy course that covers these basics, and a certificate in computer basics will be sent to your email upon completion.
